In Portsmouth we will host Dr Grimaldi's Hip Workshops on:

Mastering Movement of the Hip and Pelvis 14.03.2026 will content: 

  • 4 hours of online learning videos with printable notes. Move through the 20-30 minutes online learning lessons at your own pace
  • 3 months of unlimited access to online learning content
  • Join Dr. Alison Grimaldi in a 1 day (8-hour) practical workshop on 14th of March 2026
  • Cost of this workshop is £360 / CPD = 12h
  • Focusing on the practical aspects of assessment and optimisation of muscle function and movement of the hip & pelvis.
  • This workshop is appropriate for physiotherapists and other registered health professionals involved in assessment and management of hip conditions.

Anterior Hip & Groin Pain 15.03.2026 will content: 

  • 5 hours of Online learning videos with printable notes. Move through the 20-30 minutes online learning lessons at your own pace
  • 3 months of unlimited access to online learning content
  • Join Dr. Alison Grimaldi in a 1 day (8-hour) practical workshop on 15th of March 2026
  • Cost of this workshop is £360 / CPD = 13h
  • This course enables you to upskill in practical applications of assessment and management of joint, tendon and nerve-related anterior hip and groin pain.          
  • This workshop is appropriate for physiotherapists or other registered health professionals involved in assessment and management of hip conditions.     

You can choose one of the workshop ( Mastering Hip & Pelvis or Anterior Hip & Groin ) or if you join us for 2 days course (Mastering + Anterior Hip) , we will offer  £125 discount and total price of £595 / CPD = 25h

Course Outline

MASTERING MOVEMENT OF THE HIP AND PELVIS 14.03.2026:

ONLINE LESSONS (4h POWER POINT PRESENTATION):
  • A detailed review of functional anatomy of hip and pelvic musculature
  • Changes in muscle function associated with joint pathology and unloading
  • Implications for prescription of therapeutic exercise

PRACTICAL MASTERING MOVEMENT OF THE HIP AND PELVIS (8h): 

  • Assessment of the different aspects of muscle function for each group of synergists around the hip – hip flexors, abductors, extensors, external rotators and adductors, using standardised, objective measures
  • Development of a therapeutic exercise program that addresses specific dysfunction within a muscle synergy while considering:
  1. Optimal efficiency and load-sharing within a muscle synergy and across the kinetic chain
  2. Impact on health of musculoskeletal tissues such as the underlying joint, local tendons and transiting nerves
  3. Specific needs of the individual
  4. Individual morphology or pathology
  • By the end of this practical workshop be able to develop an effective, targeted hip exercise program that addresses not only the patient’s individual needs and impairments, but includes specific considerations around efficiency, nociceptive pathology and inherent morphology

 

ANTERIOR HIP AND GROIN PAIN WORKSHOP 15.03.2026: 

ONLINE LESSONS (5h POWER POINT PRESENTATION): 

This anterior hip and groin pain online workshop aims to assist you in better recognising, assessing and managing a range of anterior hip and groin pain conditions, including:

  • Pain associated with hip chondral pathology and labral tears
  • Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome (FAIS)
  • Extra-articular impingement (AIIS impingement, subspine impingement)
  • Anterior hip instability associated with acetabular dysplasia and/or capsuloligamentous deficiency (hypermobility/EDS, trauma, iatrogenic)
  • Anterior hip pain associated with femoral malversion (excessive femoral anteversion or femoral retroversion
  • Hip osteoarthritis
  • Hip flexor related pain, iliopsoas tendinopathy/iliopsoas bursitis
  • Groin pain with focus on adductor related groin pain
  • Nerve related anterior hip pain

PRACTICAL ANTERIOR HIP AND GROIN WORKSHOP (8h)  :

Diagnostic, pain provocation tests for intra and extra-articular sources of nociception

  • Assessment of bony morphology, joint stability and neurodynamics
  • Assessment of posture and key movement patterns for specific pain ans load intolerance presentations
  • Examples of treatment direction tests (passive and active) and clinical reasoning strategies to determine best approach for reducing pain and improving load tolerance for the patient’s specific presentation

Practical management strategies

  • Manual therapy – useful techniques for specific range gaining and improving painfree range of motion will be demonstrated
  • Learn some novel and effective nerve mobilisation exercises for the anterior hip region
  • A primary focus will be load management advice and key exercise strategies for specific presentations related to a wide range of hip conditions.
